Shield
Buff is the primary color associated with both the Quartermaster Corps and Support units. The heritage of the unit's predecessor organization (48th Quartermaster Regiment [Truck]) is reflected by the spinning truck wheel, which suggests speedy transport of supplies. The flexed arm in armor symbolizes military preparedness, while the wheat, representing "the staff of life," is emblematic of support and resources.
Crest
The kris, a traditional weapon from the Western Pacific, commemorates the Battalion's Philippine Presidential Unit Citation. Blue is emblematic of loyalty and devotion to duty. The annulet represents a wheel highlighting the unit's transportation heritage and history. It is formed of four sections of bamboo suggesting the Philippines and the unit's four campaign participation credits earned in World War II. The stylized sun ray is adapted from the Philippine Presidential flag and symbolizes freedom and noble ideals.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 48th Quartermaster Regiment (Truck) on 5 October 1942. It was redesignated for the 48th Quartermaster Battalion on 28 June 1944. It was rescinded on 9 March 1955. The insignia was reinstated and redesignated with symbolism revised for the 324th Support Battalion on 15 April 1992. It was amended to add a crest on 14 August 1992.
